Our city needed, in my view, two new health care centres with increased services to support residents, particularly older members of our community.

Keeping our City Safe is a key priority, and the police do a good job of supporting our communities. But by 2019, police numbers needed increasing.

Homleigh Park and Gloucester Academy had their best ever exam results in 2022 and Homleigh Park is now rated ‘good’ by Ofsted for the first time in a generation.

In 2019, I was determined to see the long-delayed housing regeneration in Matson and Podsmead - working with residents, Gloucester City Homes and the Councils to ensure the benefits from greater energy efficient homes.

What to do with a large and contaminated landfill site that can’t be built on? I sat down in 2019 with the recycling centre site owners, Enovert, and the City Council to discuss a sustainable future as a Green Energy and Eco Park.

By 2019, I did not believe that we had the rail services to Bristol that my constituents needed.

So I pledged an additional every 30 minute train from Gloucester to Bristol.
