Alfie Dingley and Medical Cannabis

Yesterday I met Alfie Dingley’s parents. Understanding more about the constraints on his and their lives from his current almost unique situation – there are only 9 other boys in the world with this condition and all of them are slightly different – makes me understand why the family is so determined to try and get an individual licence for Medical Cannabis oils. This would ameliorate Alfie’s condition and enable him to go to school like other children. Therefore I have signed the letter to the Home Secretary asking her to grant this licence.

This does not mean that we are legalising cannabis or legislating to change the law on drugs, but it does mean that I’m committed to trying to do my little bit to help this particular individual.
