Leaving the EU is clearly a risk - it's not one that all of us thought was worth the potential return - but if we're to make the most of doing so then membership of the EEA and the Customs Union is not the way to satisfy anyone. We shouldn't underestimate the potential for future UK trade deals outside of the EU - the opportunity to join the Trans Pacific Partnership is a great example.
