Squash

This is what keeps people like me sane in the winter when there's no cricket and we need to to hit a ball and keep fit.

It is a wonderful game at all levels and I've thoroughly enjoyed playing for Oxford University, at a national level for both Indonesia and later the Philippines, and later club sides like the Jesters. Years go by, knees take a beating, the aches hurt more - but you keep on going. Stopping anything you like is not a good idea - I just accept that the standard ain't what it once was, at least in the imagination.

So I encourage everyone to try out a game of squash - all my family play, especially the boys, and what a great way to get some testosterone out of the system.

There are two good pplaces to play in Gloucester - the Riverside Club and the GL1 Lesiure Centre. I recommend them both.
